
Regional History Museum
The Regional History Museum of Santa Cruz, also known as the History and Historical Archive Museum, is an institution dedicated to preserving and disseminating the history and culture of eastern Bolivia. Located in a heritage Art Nouveau mansion built between 1915 and 1920, this museum offers visitors an enriching experience about the history of Santa Cruz.






What to Do Inside?
The museum features various rooms and services that offer a comprehensive view of regional history:
Permanent Exhibitions: Displays of archaeology from eastern Bolivia, Chiquitana culture, historical paintings, and objects related to the life and work of Gabriel René Moreno.
Temporary Exhibitions: Photographs, seminars, theater plays, conferences, and workshops addressing various cultural and social topics.
Library and Historical Archive: Over 50,000 titles and bibliographic collections acquired since 1880, including the Old Library from the Jesuit residence and a newspaper archive with publications dating back to 1864.
Historical Research Center: A space dedicated to academic research and the development of studies on regional history.

Address: Calle Junín No. 151, between Libertad and España, half a block from 24 de Septiembre Plaza, in the historic center of Santa Cruz de la Sierra.
Public Transport: Various bus lines and taxis pass through the city center, making access to the museum easy.

Opening Hours:
Monday to Friday: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Saturdays and Sundays: Closed
